While you’re young, it can be easy to think that you’ll know exactly what you want from life when you’re in your twenties or thirties. However, while there are plenty of guidelines to follow (i.e., get an education, find the right career, etc.), it’s not always so clear what will make you happy in the long run. If you’re having trouble figuring out what you want out of life long-term, these tips will help you figure out how to determine what will bring you happiness and satisfaction in the future.

A Simple Exercise To Help You Know What You Want

1. Get a sheet of paper and divide it into four sections.
2. At the top of each section, write one of the following:
– What I want in my personal life
– What I want in my professional life
– What I want in my spiritual/emotional life
– What I want in my physical life
3. In each section, answer the following questions:
– What do I want more of? What are some things that are keeping me from getting what I want? What am I willing to give up in order to get what I want?

Start by writing what you love right now

It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and lose sight of the big picture. But if you want to be successful in life, it’s important to take some time every now and then to reflect on what you want. If you don’t know what you want, start by writing what you love right now: It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and lose sight of the big picture. Reflecting on your daily activities will help with this process; when I ask people who come into my office what they enjoy doing outside of work they’re often surprised at how much they can list off at once! Some things are more obvious than others—they may like spending time with their spouse or hanging out with friends, for example—but all the little things matter too. In a way, figuring out what you want is about taking stock of what makes you happy in order to set priorities for your future and ensure that what you do is aligned with these priorities.
